Romantic Suspense Book review

If you asked me what my favorite genre was five years ago, I probably would have shrugged my shoulders and mumbled off something about James Patterson, who writes some of my favorite books.
I worked in a highly emotional demanding job for several years which drained any mental capacity I had remaining to read--plus I had an infant at home, which didn't leave much time through the day to spend diving into new genres and new books. I also struggled to read the books I had enjoyed for so long. Crime fiction, suspense, and thriller books were no longer something I could stomach.
When I started reading and writing after losing Kennedy, I expanded into romance and women's fiction and tried to stick with pretty light reads.
As I started writing more I found myself in the center of several author communities and as I found more indie authors, I couldn't help but want to read their books.
Iannah Roberts was one of the first indie authors I discovered, so I thought I'd do a quick little review of her first three novels!

The Firefly Series starts with Fight Song, which features the Inn owner, Elle, who has a dark past. As she navigates through her mental health, she struggles to let people in. When she meets Fin, who also has a traumatic past, they meld together. Iannah does a fantastic job with character development and portrays the heartbreak and the potential for a happily ever after on each page.

Next up in the series is Piece by Piece, which is a touching second chance romance featuring Lana and Alec. This story is one of forgiveness, love, and exploring the hope of a renewed relationship. Iannah again does a great job at capturing the emotion of each of the characters and the struggles that brought them back together again.

The most recent release in the Firefly series is A Reason to Fight and it might just be the most heart-breaking yet! I felt so many emotions reading this and often had to step away for a moment to collect my thoughts before diving back in. Both Ryder and June have been through a lot and the emotions from each of the main characters flowed so well off the pages. Ryder provides June with the safe space she needed and they help each other heal from their broken pasts.

With the help of Iannah's fabulous writing, I've come to love a new genre in romantic suspense. While this definitely isn't my writing genre, I'm excited to see what comes next for Iannah.
